Multidisciplinary teamwork

Posturology and sports podiatry, like perioperative care, may require the expertise of several healthcare practitioners, each contributing their specialized knowledge.

The expert eye of each practitioner will thus help to avoid therapeutic wandering and a proliferation of consultations without any results on the symptoms.

The advantage of Podiatrylab is that it brings together multiple medical and paramedical practitioners to provide the best possible advice to patients. When an additional diagnosis is required (doctor, surgeon, physical therapist, osteopath, dentist, etc.), we can refer patients to a practitioner near their home or within CanopiaSanté, depending on their preference.

Similarly, preoperative and postoperative assessments, their analysis and comparison will be studied with patients and forwarded to the various practitioners, under the surgeon’s expert guidance.

A podiatrist and physical therapist, both involved in functional foot rehabilitation, will support the patient until they have recovered as much as possible and according to the expected objectives: resuming walking or more intense sports, for leisure or competition, returning to more suitable footwear, etc.

The ongoing exchanges between the healthcare professionals involved in the operation are aimed at optimizing recovery.

For high-level athletes, for example, the support provided by practitioners can then be relayed to sports coaches in a reathletization program in order to increase performance once rehabilitation has been completed on a surgical, podiatric, and physical therapy level.

Everyone has a role to play in this interprofessional work, for example:

  • Doctors and surgeons diagnose and supervise the overall treatment.
  • Posturology or sports podiatric analysis identifies static and dynamic disorders, assists in the initial phase of treatment, and treats with insoles if necessary.
  • Osteopathy can resolve major dysfunctions that prevent rehabilitation from starting and/or relieve acute pain
  • Physiotherapy rehabilitation initiates the rehabilitation process using methods to develop and recover the musculoskeletal system, with the aim of compensating for motor or functional impairments
  • Therapeutic education ensures long-term effects through specialized advice from practitioners.

PodiatryLab is located within Canopia Santé, a large sports medicine center bringing together a range of medical and paramedical specialties and services to meet the various needs of different conditions.

With surgeons, medical specialists (sports medicine, rehabilitation, radiology, etc.), physical therapists, osteopaths, and nurses all under one roof, we have access to a range of facilities, including a rehabilitation center, balneotherapy center, athletic training room, hypoxic chambers and rooms, radiology, MRI, and more, providing everything necessary for our patients.

Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, working together is success.
