How does an initial clinical examination (postural or sports-related) work?

The initial assessment lasts 45 to 60 minutes on average.

It is divided into two or three phases:

1. Clinical postural examination:

  • Complete interview with the patient about their condition and reason for consultation.
  • Set of standing, sitting, and lying postural tests.
  • Manual therapy if necessary.
  • Treatment testing.

2. Spine 3D Morphostatic Analysis or Runtime Sports Movement Analysis

Spine 3D

The analysis is performed in a standing position in a natural posture (unlike any other medical imaging system: MRI, radiology, CT scan, etc.).

SAM3D imaging provides quantified, objective, and reproducible validation of the existence of a postural disorder. It allows the effectiveness of proposed corrections to be guided, monitored, and validated.

Postural images may be repeated depending on the complexity of the postural problem. (Readhttps://podiatry-lab.fr/posturologie-clinique/)

Runtime

The patient runs at different speeds on the sensor mat so that their stride can be analyzed by the camera, which analyzes the data by correlating the sensors and the image. (Read https://podiatry-lab.fr/podologie-du-sport/)

3. Custom insoles manufactured and molded following the assessment, if desired by the patient

  • Custom insoles manufactured in our workshop
  • Thermoforming to the patient’s foot
  • Verification testing

The results will be sent to you and your healthcare practitioners following the postural analysis.

Prepare for your consultation

  • Bring your recent test results (MRI, X-ray, CT scan, etc.) or upload them directly to your Doctolib account.
  • Wear appropriate clothing: you will be asked to change into underwear or sportswear.
  • Bring your sports shoes, orthopedic insoles, glasses, mouth guards, and contact lenses if you wear them.
  • Bring your health insurance card and the doctor’s letter or prescription if you have been referred (not mandatory).
  • Check with your health insurance provider to find out if they will cover the cost of the assessment and insoles.
